Affectis’ Drug Discovery group is a multidisciplinary team of chemists, molecular biologists and IT specialists who elucidate the regulatory mechanisms underlying diseases of the nervous and immune system. Mechanistic information is used to choose the best target for attacking a disease and to define the best way to translate basic biomedical research into innovative therapies for psychiatric disorders.
The team is currently focused on research and drug discovery in psychiatric and inflammatory diseases with strong unmet medical needs. Besides identifying and validating targets, it also develops assays and provides the bioinformatic support needed to help move research projects forward into advanced / clinical development.
