Affectis Pharmaceuticals AG names Alex Martin Chief Financial Officer

Martinsried, Germany - Affectis Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceutical company developing novel drugs for the treatment of psychiatric and inflammatory disorders, today announced the appointment of Alex Martin as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Martin brings over 20 years experience in the life sciences industry, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer of Intercept Pharmaceuticals.

Herbert Stadler, founder and CEO of Affectis, commented, "We are please to have Alex join our team as he brings experience as both a CFO and an operating manager which will be invaluable as we continue to advance our pipeline and invest in our programs further."

Mr. Martin has worked in various commercial capacities at Novartis and SmithKline Beecham (now GSK), and has helped raise venture capital financing for three previous start-ups, two of which went public.

"I am excited to be joining Affectis at this time and look forward continuing to build on the CNS foundation laid down by the management and investors," Mr. Martin added.
