Merck Serono has entered into a partnership with Affectis to develop and commercialize certain oral compounds targeting P2X7 for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Merck Serono obtained worldwide exclusive rights to selected undisclosed compounds. The partnership further includes a research collaboration focusing on P2X7 antagonist optimization.
