Wolfgang Wurst


  Wolfgang Wurst is Director of the Institute of Developmental Genetics at the National Research Centre for Environment and Health (GSF) in Munich and Professor at Technical University Munich. Previous positions include Group Leader Molecular Neurogenetics at the Max-Planck-Institute of Psychiatry in Munich and Junior Research Group Leader Department of Mammalian Genetics, GSF Research Center, Neuherberg/Munich. He studied biology and chemistry at the University of Freiburg, Germany, and obtained his PhD at the University of Göttingen, Germany, and has longstanding expertise in neural development and molecular neurogenetics. He provides important advice in the establishment of animal models of depression disorders and generates knock-out animals for Affectis' targets. Wolfgang Wurst is coordinating large international consortiums with respect to generating animal models for human diseases.
