Prof. Holsboer is a key opinion leader in the field of antidepressant research. He studied chemistry and medicine at Ludwig Maximilians University (LMU) in Munich and did his residency at LMU’s Department of Psychiatry and at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Mainz. Since 1989, he is Director of the Max-Planck-Institute of Psychiatry in Munich. Prof. Holsboer has received numerous awards including the ECNP Neuropsychopharmacology Award, Anna Monica Prize, and is Doctor Honoris Causa of Leiden University. As founder of Affectis, he brings precious counsel regarding the clinical aspects of depression and plays a vital role in designing the clinical trials.
